South Coast Track

Adventure Seekers Guided walking tours on Tasmania's South Coast Track begin in November and run through until February 2011.
If you like to join us visit our website www.adventureseekers.com.au for more details.
We begin our 9 day 85km journey with a light aircraft flight into the airstrip at Melaleuca then travel from west to east over wilderness beaches and dramatic peaks, through temperate rainforest and across pristine rivers and creeks.
Aboriginal people used this same route for thousands of years and evidence of their culture can still be seen. The diversity of plant and animal species in the park is amazing, particularly the abundant bird life.
A good level of fitness is required to complete this trek and walkers are required to carry heavy packs up to 15 km a day. Each day is different and the campsites that we visit are spectacular but the total journey is the true reward.Testimonials“This trek was challenging both physically and mentally. The guides kept a watchful eye on us without being intrusive and they formed the group into a close and happy party. I learned a lot about trekking from these guys”.- Stuart M
